making decisions

So... I've flipped through the Greenlight My Movie VIP company list and I think I've selected my first two candidates for submission.

The first is Apocalyptic Entertainment.

Their credits include films like Gothika, The Book of Eli, The Orphan and the extremely stellar House of Wax remake.

I also selected Millennium Films based purely on their hand in producing the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake; Paperboy, which was based on one of my favorite novels and nearly all of Stallone's recent output).

For my last company, I am torn.

There's Dimension Films (the Weinstein Bros.).

I could also submit just to a regular agency, say UTA or Gersh; they are two of the big heavy hitters.

I've also moderately considered Circle of Confusion, but they've turned me down too many times (with my terrible first screenplay Coil and my not-so-bad-even-kinda-good werewolf script Cubs).

Also, there's Zero Gravity, but, seriously, they've burned me too many times in the past: they requested my script Pillow Queen, deliberated for three months, then rejected me (probably without reading the script), then they requested Personal Demons and never got back to me, even when I (politely and respectfully) requested an answer.

I dunno.

Then there's Original Film. Their filmography is varied and one of the featured directors they pride themselves on representing on their website is Rob Zombie... We shall see.

I also don't know if I can submit to three companies then, pending any responses, pay another $33 and submit the same project to three more companies.

Ah well.

The bottom line is that I need to finalize my video pitch (all I have left is the synopsis video to film and edit), pick my third company, then submit my materials.
And I need to do this all so that I have time in the summer to potentially field meetings if indeed that does happen.

It's exciting.
