Tomorrow I have a Zoom meeting with Saul from One Community.
Gotta practice my pitch for Personal Demons tonight.
I have an alarm set for 10:30am, the Zoom is at 11:45am.
I plan to wake, chug an energy drink, and do nothing but practice my pitch until the time arrives.
Also, if I find the inclination, I plan to finish tinkering with Wolves at the Door and send it to my constant first reader, critic and editor, Tim Scott.
However, one thing I did a few days ago (and this is totally idiosyncratic) is that I took a Microsoft Word doc (where I had all of my submission logs: for literary agents, script agents, film fests, short stories I sent to magazines, etc.) and broke it up into several Word docs, one for each type of submissions.
I know that seems minor, but to a writer (and writer are notoriously idiosyncratic and in need on compartmentalization) it is a huge weight lifted off my mind.
I still have to deal with the frustration of sending out submissions and query letters and dealing with the unending wave of rejection and the flakiness inherent in the entitled gatekeepers of opportunity, but c'est la vie.
I persist.
