Well, I think it's safe to say that all the interest that was shown at PitchFest (from CAA and the Warden Group) has amounted to nothing.
Now, I prepared myself for this after PitchFest (though I was just living in the moment and sapping the excitement that came from Hollywood agents showing genuine interest in my ideas and writing), but I hoped for the best, while simultaneously preparing for the worst.
I sent my initial e-mail to the Warden group on June 6th, then I sent a follow-up on June 21st.
I'm trying to be respectfully persistent.
Though, at this point I would have expected, at the least, a rejection, not this silence I've been getting.
On the one hand, I consider the flippant and dismissive gesture of not offering a formal rejection extremely unprofessional, on the other hand, this is Hollywood.
I don't know.
I may still hold a glimmer of hope, but at this point it's safe to say that nothing will pan out.
I will try again at PitchFest next year and see what results are yielded.
But if nothing pans out next year, then I will move on to Fade In's Hollywood PitchFest in Los Angeles.
Also, in the meantime I'm going to post some videos on GreenLightMyMovie.com and The Tracking Board.
It's just sad that I was excited about all this interest in my creative output, only to have it fizzle unceremoniously after the fact.
Ah well.
Such is life.
