Well, in addition to submitting my latest (and first non-horror) script (Pillow Queen) to the CinemaSpoke Screenplay Competition, I will also be submitting (for the first time since 2011) a few scripts to some horror film festivals I generally submit to: Screamfest and Shriekfest (both in L.A.).
In 2011 I submitted my two best horror scripts: Flatdog and Cubs.
I am tempted to submit them again (hell, it was 2011, do they really remember three years ago?... Perhaps there are different judges and they'll make the cut this time), but in the end I think this year I will submit Momo and Dweller (which I've never had considered at any festival).
I also feel as if I need to submit Petcare (another of my favorite horror scripts) to a few festivals, but given its length (61 pages) I don't see it being accepted anywhere.
Same goes for Stage Blood (both of which I intended as episodes of Showtimes' Masters of Horror series).
Ah well.
For now I will rely on the fact that Momo is such a beautifully emotional story (like a Russian novel with Sasquatches...) and Dweller is such an allegorical, (hopefully) intelligent, stylish and (gleefully) over the top creature feature that they will make the correct impressions on the submission readers.
