Dammit!

Well, I missed the boat on Screamfest (it seems their deadline was June 2nd... this past Monday).

If I'd been on the ball more I could have submitted.

Turns out I have submitted Cubs and Flatdog to them in the past, so I was unsure about sending them again.

I know Denise Gossett (from Shriekfest) said that if a script doesn't make the grade, then they probably need a script doctor, but my experiences with Script Doctors have left a bad taste in my mouth. I still believe it is purely a matter of aesthetic and right time at the right place with the right person.

At any rate, to give Shriek and Screamfest the benefit of the doubt, I've submitted all new scripts (Momo, a script I really treasure that I don't necessarily consider "horror", but more of a fantasy/thriller/drama... a bit like The Crow) and Dweller (my H.P. Lovecraftian balls-to-the-wall creature feature... with the usual dose of Left-wing socio-political commentary thrown in... Just for good measure and to show my George Romero influence).

Next year I may submit Cubs and Flatdog again, as I truly do believe that they are my two best scripts.

I've also submitted Pillow Queen to the local CinemaSpoke Screenplay Competition and have received no word back from them (they haven't even cashed my check!). I e-mail them every few days (about to do it again here).

But that is the word on my summer submissions thus far...

Not doing so bad... 2nd day of summer break and I've already submitted two scripts.

Hopefully, I'll have more submitting or writing news by the end of the day...
