Today's Writing

Today, I will attempt to finish a David Kemp story I started writing in 2021 (!)... I never used to do that. I used to finish a short story in one sitting. Pick the fruit while it's ripe, I used to say, or it will rot on the vine.

Anyhow, I also had the idea (really just the title and theme) of my first screenplay featuring David Kemp since 2005. I have started outlining it and  I think I will begin it as my next project after I finish writing this short story.

Whenever I get down on myself for not writing, I then have to remind myself that I wrote Muscles & Wine between the summers of 2021-22. I wrote Run, Run Rudolph mostly over the winter of 2023 and finished it in early 2024. And I wrote Wolves at the Door during the summers of 2022-24. And I am proud of all of those scripts. They hold up to my multiple reads, where I examine and analyze them exhaustively.

I do get writing done, it's just a matter of finding the time, energy, focus and motivation.

Hopefully I will more of that throughout the school year soon.

I have really been feeling like garbage lately (which really sucks because it is Spooky Season and now 19 days until Halloween) so I should be feeling awesome. But, regardless, I'm sure some Halloween activities and getting back to writing long-term projects during the school year will cure me of my blues.
