More roundabout

I really don't want my blog (which is supposed to be about my writing and my journey towards publication, representation and appreciation) to become a venting venue for my frustrations (which could be construed as "gossip") with GMM, but I jsut have some new setbacks I wish to impart.
Oh, also I don't really want to continue venting here because they might be reading this and, in truth, that could be the reason for some of their recent curt responses and lack of helpfulness.

Here are a couple of e-mails I sent them recently and their responses:

Part I

My Message:

Dear GMM,

I wanted to write and inquire as to what I should do about VIPs that have, as yet, been unresponsive to pitches I have either sent to them, or that they have requested from me.

Thus far, I am awaiting responses from:

  • Brick & Martyr on July 19th of 2017 they requested to see my video pitch for Personal Demons; on July 21st they requested to see the full script, which I readily sent to them.
  • Dedicated Talent Management requested to see the full video pitch for Personal Demons, which I then sent to them. Perhaps you can help clear this up, but I seem to remember getting some sort of a refund for my submission to them but cannot find the correspondence telling me why. Is it because they took too long to get back to me? Or perhaps they folded as a company? Please advise.
  • Circle of Confusion-2 (submitted my pitch to them on May 9th, 2018).
Please advise at your earliest convenience.

Their Response:

Hi Erik

Once an exec / rep has engaged with you then it's up to you to email them directly for an update or to make sure they received your material.

Circle we will look in to.

Marty

My commentary: Well, first, they just looked into a case of a VIP not getting back to me after they (Atomic Monster) engaged with me. Second, these VIPs tend to keep their contact information fairly private and on an elite level (hence why I'm using GMM in the first place and not approaching them directly).

 Part II

My Message:

Dear GMM,

There are some VIPs listed in your list of companies that don't pop up on the submission form when I type in their name.
Specifically, I am trying to submit to Screen Gems.
Please advise whenever is convenient.

Their Response:

Hi Erik

Some companies we are still adding and others like Screen Gems just went off.

Marty

My Commentary: Well, I guess my question here is: if they "went off", then why do you still list them as a VIP that cooperates with your site? It seems unprofessional to list companies that people can't submit to.

Oh well.

Onward I persist.
