So... We're two and a half months into 2018 and I haven't really done anything to further along my writing career.
I haven't written anything.
I've only submitted one thing, and that was on a whim.
But, the one thing I did submit was Personal Demons to a horror screenplay competition (Fade In): a screenplay competition run by the people who make the premier screenwriters magazine, screenplay competition run by the people who compile and print and sell the agents and producers guide I buy each year and a screenplay competition by the people who run the pitchfest that I plan to attend next year... the pitchfest that could reasonably be seen (and is seen by me) as being the Holy Grail of pitchfests.
But I digress.
Anyhow, I am feeling extremely low about the fact that I have no even cracked open the 2017-18 Fade In Agents Guide yet, I have not written anything yet, I haven't hardly anything and I haven't even really written in this blog (this is my second posting of 2018).
But today I changed all that.
Today I finally submitted (after last year watching the special features on my Jugface Blu-ray) to the Horror Screenplay Competition at Slamdance.
That's actually huge for me.
It did cost me $50 (and I'm in a bit of a financial bind right now), even though Withoutabox said my submission fee would be discounted to $45 for submitting through them, but I feel it was worth it.
Now all I have to do is find time during the work week (on my recently freed up evenings off) to keep writing, submit my work and catalog it all in this blog... for whoever is reading it.
