Another rejection

So, the school year has begun and in the mornings, in my car, I have my moment of zen before heading into school... I check my Hotmail, my Gmail, the Bloody-Disgusting app, Google new, etc.

Anyhow, on August 15th I received a response from a company I submitted to via Greenlight My Movie.

At first I thought it was Brick & Martyr (as they are the ones who reached out to me in an unsolicited correspondence and requested my script after seeing my video pitch... a month ago).

I honestly thought the other companies that I'd sent submissions to weren't responding because they weren't interested.

Apparently not.

Just got this response from Good Fear Film & Management:

Thank you for allowing us to review and consider your project "Personal
Demons".

Response: This is a pass for us, because; Premise is too similar to existing
projects in development.

Now my problem here is that they say the premise is too similar to "existing projects in development", but they don't say if these projects are in development with them or in general (with other companies).

I dunno... I read Fangoria (since I was 13), I check the Bloody-Disgusting app every day, I read Screen Anarchy... I get my genre movie news from a variety of sources... If a movie like Personal Demons was being made, I think I'd know about it.
Sounds like a blow off to me.

Ah well.
