this year's pitchfests

... Well, I didn't think I was going to go to a pitchfest this year... And now I'm certain.

The pitchfest I went to last year (the Great American PitchFest) is scheduled for May 20th-22nd.

Seems like it gets earlier and earlier each year.

I won't even be done with school for the summer by then!

Then there's the other pitchFest (the Hollywood PitchFest put on by Fade In Magazine) is taking place August 5th-7th... Now, we haven't received the calendar for next school year, but I'm guessing that's the week before we go back to school.

What happened to having these pitchfests in the middle of the summer??

I could theoretically go to the Fade In pitchfest (which is the one I'd prefer to go to anyhow, as I haven't been to it yet and it seems more professional and attended by more Hollywood heavies than the one I attended last year), but that could cutting it close and would represent a huge strain on my physically, mentally and financially: I'd be rushing to get ready for pitchfest all summer and spending the majority of my bar tending tips on travel expenses and materials for pitchfest. Doesn't sound fun. Especially when the 2 months of having nothing to do is what I look forward to all year.


We shall see.

But I see next summer being the year I do pitchfest again.
