I have finished my latest screenplay (which I began in 2022).
This is my third werewolf screenplay.
It is 82 pages long.
I think this is a fine length.
With credits (opening and closing) it should round out to about 90 minutes or so.
However, there is a news interview at the end and a monologue of sorts (a voice over) that rounds out the narrative that, I fear, an executive may find extraneous, unnecessary or even boring.
On the one hand, I feel as if I was recapping and defining the film's ideology (for any viewer not savvy enough to grasp it during the film), and on the other hand I do indeed feel as if I were trying to pad out my running time.
However, tomorrow (or some day next week) I plan on re-reading this script.
I think I can insert two scenes into it: one that will create more scares and tensions. And another that will hopefully flesh out the characters a bit.
We shall see.
After that I will rely on my forever editor, critic and workshop partner, Tim, to advise me with further revisions.
