 I honestly didn't know this many higher-up[ academics knew who I was, or cared about what I wrote.

I think this is from a paper I wrote 4 years ago (for a class I hated) about literary genre and how authors invented new genres in order to fulfill a personal need that extended into their creative lives. I used Poe and Goethe (my two main dudes) as my references. 

That is the only thing I can think of.
