Knowing when NOT to write

So, today I was steadfast in my ambitions to get some writing done.

However, when I sat down to write a few pages in my comedy screenplay, I realized hat I just wasn't feeling it... wasn't in the mood... therefore, what was coming out on the page wasn't very funny.

So, I went back and re-wrote a little of what I wrote last week in this script. I realized that what I had written before was a little thrown together and didn't have the world-building, characterization and tone that I wanted.

At any rate, I had my Mark Twain Paddywax candle burning (as I was writing comedy), but now I think I probably want to spend today reading (Gary Brandener's Walkers), dozing in my recliner and doing some light writing (correspondences, outlines for future scripts, etc.).

This script I am writing now I have all mapped out (even the jokes).

The muse will land eventually.
