"Dear Erik D.,
Thank
you for submitting your film or screenplay to the Crimson Screen Horror
Film Fest. Unfortunately, we are not able to include it in our program
this year. We had our biggest year yet and we packed it with as many
films as possible for 3 days of the fest which came out to about 57
films total.
WAIT…it’s not over. Read the entire email please!!!!
Please
know that your project was carefully considered by our programming
team, and the decision was incredibly difficult to say the least.
Unfortunately, not all of the wonderful projects we consider can be
included, and we are forced to make many difficult decisions each year.
Many
of the films were amazing and it came down to a "what can we fit in the
time period we have" situation, so do not think anything was "wrong"
with your project.
Thank
you again for sharing your project with us. We wish you the best of
luck, and we hope to have the opportunity to view your work in the
future.
NOTICE:
Every year there are filmmakers who do not respond to their notice or
do not get us their screeners in time, and we then replace them with
other films. So you still have a chance of being picked so please keep a
watch on your email.
Lastly, ALL short film submissions, even those that were not chosen as official selections, will be viewed by execs from ShortsTV
for a chance at a cable broadcast deal! ShortsTV is the world’s largest
distributor of short films, including Oscar-winning shorts. Their
channel is carried worldwide and in the States, you can find it on
DirecTV and AT&T Uverse.
Look for a possible email from them after May 24th if they want to offer
you a nonexclusive broadcast deal on your short. They are a sponsor of
our fest and really need horror shorts...so don't be shocked if they
contact you about your film. Check your spam mail!
Thank you again for submitting and please continue to make horror films!
Good luck!
Sincerely,
Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest
