Well, in addition tot he Hemingway bust the school librarian gave me, I finally found a CD (digital download, actually) of Hemingway's spoken word material.
It seems to be taken from an old LP and the sound quality is a bit bedraggled, but nonetheless, it's Hem and it's amazing...
It even has his Nobel Prize acceptance speech.
His voice doesn't sound the way I thought it would.
But then, everyone thought of Hem as a "Man's man author" and the guy had much more empathy and tenderness than the macho misogynist many had him pegged as... So a thwarting of expectations is par for the course with Hem.
Anyhow, I know have this to add to my massive collection of audio books by my favorite authors (thus far I've got Kerouac, Burroughs, Burroughs Jr., H.S. Thompson & Chuck Palahniuk).
Hemingway is indeed a crown jewel in this collection... As he should be.
