THIS stares me in the face when I write now...

The librarian at school let me take this home.

I've been yearning after it for years.

They also have a Twain and a Dr. King at school that I'll consider asking for later this year.

I clutched this thing to my chest and made my way back up to my classroom and was immensely paranoid of students running into me or my dropping it on my way to my car.

Thankfully, I got it home in one piece (it's metal, so if it broke... how much damage would I really have done?).

Anyhow, I ran it under the bath tub spigot (it was pretty dusty) and let it dry on the window sill (think 'Hem would've appreciated that) and now it sits on my desk (right in front of my stack of Paddywax candle collection) and stares me in the face when I write.

Hopefully this will help, as I haven't been writing my own work as of late (just movie reviews, e-mail updates, etc.).

I am hopeful that 'Hem's likeness in my home will inspire greatness, as does his words...
