Hopefully, tonight I will be finishing a David Kemp story I started writing in the summer of 2021.
It is called "Unknown Animal".
It really drags me down that I don't finish stories in a single sitting (or, at the very least, two or three sittings) like I did just a few years ago.
But I can't dwell on that.
I just need to take this disappointment and let it inform my decisions in the future: stave off all other desires (even exercising or watching movies) sop I can write and finish a story.
I have also decided that this summer I will not be writing any screenplays.
At the very least, I will be outlining future scripts (according to the Syd Fields three-act structure), but I will be focusing my efforts solely on writing short stories and possibly outlining a future novel (that I've had in my head since 2001) and perhaps finishing a novel I began so long ago (called Meetings about a former addict friend of mine I met in college).
The next screenplay I write will be my next Christmas horror movie that I plan to write this coming winter break.
