I've been reaching out to the companies I pitched to at FadeIn's Hollywood PitchFest.
Here is the email I sent to 3/5 of the companies:
We met (via Skype) during FadeIn Magazine’s Pitchfest on July ??.
You requested to read my screenplay Personal Demons after our meeting and I was just writing to inquire whether you have had time to read it.
Please advise whenever is convenient.
And then I had to personalize my follow-up to Epicenter, since they never received my script (they decided, instead, to go through FadeIn... who has, not surprisingly, not contacted me regarding thistransaction).
Epicenter Follow-up:
Dear Ms. Charas,
Greetings!
We met (via Skype) during FadeIn Magazine’s Pitchfest on July 29th.
I am the writer with whom you shared a mutual affinity for Ice Nine Kills.
Just
as a refresher, here is my pitch: And then I gave her my logline.
You requested to read my screenplay PERSONAL DEMONS after our meeting. However, FadeIn, who generally acts as a liaison in these matters, has not yet contacted me in order to pass along my script to you. I was wondering if you would like me to send the script to you directly.
Please advise whenever is convenient.
Sincerely,
Erik D. Harshman
And then there is my follow-up to Culture Creative (Paul Wietzman):
Greetings!
I met (via Skype) with Mr. Weitzman during FadeIn Magazine’s Pitchfest on July 29th.
He requested to read my screenplay Personal Demons after our meeting and I was just writing to inquire whether he has had time to read it.
Please advise whenever is convenient.
The only person to respond yet is Evan Gruters (on behalf of Paul Weitzman).
He wrote back:
"Hey Erik,
Hope you are doing well.
Mr. Weitzman has not had a chance to read it as of yet, but still plans to do so.
Best,
EG"
Not only has Gruters been the only one to respond back yet, but I have determined that Paul Weitzman is a stand-up guy, a consummate professional and a class act all the way.
I would be more than proud to be represented by him when he reads my script and if he chooses to represent me.
