I just finished writing my first comedy screenplay (which I began last summer and have had living in my head since 2015), titled Muscles and Wine.
Abut to send it to my college buddy (and writing workshop partner), Tim Scott, to get his feedback and criticism.
Don't know if I'm going to pitch this script, or Personal Demons, or both at Pitchfest in late July.
I'm definitely pitching Personal Demons because it's safe.
But we shall see about Muscles and Wine.
I'm very proud of it.
I think it's incredibly marketable (definitely my most bromantic and feel-good script).
This sounds pretentious, but I want it to be my gift of joy to the world.
Like the wacky comedies I grew up on.
The movies that made me howl with laughter in theaters and on VHS from the video store when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's.
Movies like:
Tommy Boy
Black Sheep
Billy Madison
Wayne’s World
Bill & Ted
Freaked
Twins
K-9
Happy Gilmore
Waterboy
Little Nicky
Son-in-Law
In the Army Now
Dead Man on Campus
Airheads
Beavis & Butt-head Do America
Baseketball
And recent movies, like...
The Internship
Crazy, Stupid, Love
Jexi
EuroVision
Step Brothers
The Other Guys
Waiting...
Just Friends
That’s My Boy
Due Date
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates
We shall see.
I have high hopes for this script.
Let's see if Hollywood agrees.
