Further news from Oregon!

So... Just got this message from the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival:

"Hi Erik D.,

Congratulations, your submission is an official selection of the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival Summer 2019. This means that your film or screenplay is rated in the top 25% of submissions. The event will take place at the 5th Avenue Cinema 510 SW Hall St, Portland, OR 97201 on Thursday-Friday August 8-9, 2019. All screenings are in Theater Room 2. Please check out the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival Summer 2019 Event Page to check the spelling and credits for your film. Make sure to download and share the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival Summer 2019 Laurels.

We are compiling the films and screening them in 1080p HD 23.976 Frame Rate. Can you please send us a download link to your film via wetransfer.com, vimeo.com, google drive or a similar service. 23.976, 24, 25, or 29.97 Frame Rates are accepted. .mov or .mp4 files preferred. We do not screen the DCP format. My email address for downloads is mikel.fair@filmfestivalcircuit.com. You can download this document for your editor. We plan to post about every film and screenplay on social media over the next few days. It’s not required, but if you use social media, please like our page on Facebook, Instagram and tag #OregonScreamWeek on Twitter or Instagram when posting.

Our goal is to announce the Award Nominations for 11 different categories on July 18, 2019 on the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival Facebook Page. Have you taken time to list your, directors, composers, editors and cinematographers in your film’s FilmFreeway submission form? You can help our judges save time by filling in these fields, so we don’t have to scroll through the credits of 30+ films to figure out who is who. Any help you can give us is appreciated. If your screenplay was selected, please make sure that all writers are credited.

If you are a filmmaker, do you have a preference, whether your film screens on Thursday August 8 or Friday August 9? We want to be respectful of your travel plans and can make accommodations to the schedule. Please notify us before Monday July 15, 2019 if you have a preference. We now operate the screening phase of this event by donation only, you decide, if you’d like to pay $1, $15, or whatever you’d like per ticket. We will notify you when tickets are available very soon on Eventbrite

Good luck and have a great week. We are proud to screen your film and we are looking forward to the audience reaction, here in Portland. Thank you.

Mikel Fair,
Oregon Documentary Film Festival Director"
