I feel like I'm badgering agents/producers/production companies when I write and ask if they've reviewed the script I sent them... the script they asked for (because sending unsolicited material is a mortal sin in Hollywood).
Anyhow, when Digital Riot Media requested the script for Personal Demons back in March (over Spring Break, on March 27th) I immediately sent them the script.
I reminded (or badgered, depends on your perspective) them on April 19th and now again today.
...Should I hold out hope for a response?
My instincts tell me "no".
In 2015 a producer responded readily to my query letter for Personal Demons.
I sent it to them, then didn't hear anything for a few weeks.
I politely reminded them and they responded positively, apologizing and encouraged me to keep at them in case they became overloaded and didn't get to it in a timely fashion.
I just don't understand why all people (no matter how "important" or busy or in demand they are) can't be courteous and professional and let you know the status of things.
The same thing happened twelve years ago when I went to apply for teaching jobs.
Ah well.
But as the year is about half over and I am on the verge of going on summer break, looks like I'll be cracking open my Fade In Agent's Guide, sending out queries and, when I have the money, submitting to film festivals.
Seriously, if I had more money, I'd submit to every horror screenplay competition out there.
But, as I do not, I have to pick my targets carefully.
