I just finished writing the three-act structure for my next script: a serial killer horror film entitled Gruesome.
I am hoping to pitch this film (along with one of my earliest scripts, a love story concerning ghosts and murderers called Invoking Henry) to studios at next year's PitchFest, as I've learned that the studios seek lower budgeted scripts, while the agents don't care what the budget of your film is.
I've also gone through my list of unwritten script ideas and discerned the next ten or so scripts I'll be writing. Most of the ideas I came up with from 2004 to present are great ideas, but I just don't know (presently) how to turn them into feature-length ideas... Or if they can even exist in that venue... Or if they would be more suited to being in an anthology film or part of a horror T.V. series (like Tales From the Darkside or the now-defunct Masters of Horror/Fear Itself).
Anyhow, the scripts I have identified as my next slew of projects are all ideas that are, virtually, fully formed and can be made into scripts readily (I even have pages of notes for most of them).
I am looking forward to the next few months to a year. There's going to be some good writing done in that time. I am simply hoping my day (and night) job does not sap me so that I don't get any work and writing done for myself.
