I pieced together (pun intended) my one-sheet for Flatdog tonight.
Looks good.
Could look better.
The design (by Tim Scott) is flawless, I just don't like the way I arranged it in my Word document.
Be that as it may, it is passable for a first year at PitchFest. Plus, the images are strong and, hopefully, the writing (my synopsis) are equally as strong and can raise a few eyebrows (in a good way).
I've also been practicing my Flatdog pitch... I have it down to less than 6 minutes (the typical pitch running time). Perhaps it's because I know the Flatdog story better than Pillow Queen and I've lived with Flatdog for longer (since 2008).
At any rate, I should have the Flatdog speech perfected by this weekend and will hopefully have a YouTube video to post around then as well.
I'm not 100% satisfied with the work I've done tonight (I feel I could have done more if not for my after school nap), but at least I got some work done.
I just hate that this PitchFest is in late May (usually it is in mid-to-late June), but the PitchFest rep who called me about tickets told me that they couldn't secure that date this year, so they booked the last weekend in May instead. Ah well. PitchFest is the weekend after school lets out; that's fine. I have less time than I'd like to prepare and I have to multi-task PitchFest prep with the end of the school year shuffle. Whatever. No use fretting over a situation that's outside my control.
So here I go, prepping the best I can.
Making a go of it.
