tonight's writing

Doing a tiny bit of writing before I head out to my monthly midnight movie... The first weekend of every month my buddy Andy Triefenbach shows an old grindhouse movie (horror, action, sexploitation, exploitation, etc.) at this old one-screen theater called the Hi-Pointe.

This month it's Death Wish 3... Can't wait... Haven't seen any of the Death Wish films yet.

At any rate, doing a tiny bit of writing in Momo: Survival before I go (I'm about halfway through the script and am already wringing my hands in anticipation of my next script).

Every time I write when I'm one foot out the door, it reminds me of that scene in Kerouac's On the Road when Kerouac and Cassady are about to go out for the night and Kerouac is perched over his typewriter and Cassady is cheering him on, yelling,
" Come on man, those girls won’t wait, make it fast… Go ahead, everything you do is great… Yes! That’s right! Wow! Man!... Phew!... Man, wow, there’s so many things to do, so many things to write! How to even begin to get it all down and without modified restraints and all hung-up on like literary inhibitions and grammatical fears . . ."
... Indeed!
