Tonight...

I sat down and finally wrote a short horror stroy I've been gestating since 2007...

I burned my Edgar Allan Poe Paddywax library candle and wrote non-stop for a series of hours.

Felt good to write for that length of time, undisturbed, holding to my convictions and not bending to distractions (movies, music, video games, comic books).

I'm liking my discipline here.

I even went so far as to send a query for a script I wrote a year ago to an agency that has requested some of my work in the past.

Next week I plan to start work on another short story (this one longer) and write an outline; print & bind my last novel (Urban Prairie), so that it can sit on my shelf looking nice and be read by nobody but me and I plan to submit a consignment of short stories to some magazines.

This is what I needed to make my summer feel productive.
