... Haven't updated in a while.
Been going to shows, relaxing, visiting family.

On June 19th, ScriptDr.Eric handed me off to ScriptDr.Joey and I sent her my query letter for Pillow Queen.
Now I wait.

In the meantime I received my 2013 Hollywood Screenwriter's Director from Amazon.

Not quite what I was expecting.

I expected a directory of agents.

This volume has a sparse section where they outline the "How To's..." and the "Do's and Don'ts" of submissions, but then it give you a directory of studios. They even categorize them by "Studios Who Accept Unsolicited Material from Unrepresented Writers" and "Studios Who Don't Accept Unsolicited Material from Unrepresented Writers".
You can imagine which list is bigger.
Which makes me wonder what the point of the damn book is.

If you're a writer with representation, why would you need the damn book?!
If you've got to that point, chances are your foot is in the door or you've gone something in the works.
But I digress.

I'm going to shoot an e-mail to Writer's Digest (not that it'll do any good, but it'll make me feel better) to see if there's another book with more script agents listed, or to see if future editions of the Hollywood Screenwriter's Directory will have more agents.

Otherwise I see no point in getting the 2014 edition.

I'll just query the agents in the WGAw directory and read the book (The Script's Finished... Now What?) that my brother got me for Christmas of 2007... and see what wisdom I can extract from there.
