... Without even trying, today's been a productive day.
Eric, from that ScriptDoctorEric website, finally got back to me and told me it'd be a few days, but that he'd return a more refined draft of my query letter to me.
Which is good; I was getting worried and was going to give him until the end of next week before I requested a refund from PayPal.
I also e-mailed Script Dr. Eric back to see if I could send him a copy of my query letter that just queries Pillow Queen.
We shall see.
But more than that I am extremely excited that a valuable tool has returned to my arsenal.
See, ever since college I've been a loyal reader of the Writer's Market and all its brother and sister publications. I especially adhere to the Short Story Writer's Market (though, in recent years, it's almost better to look to the actual Writer's Market to find places to send your short fiction... I don't know why Short Story Writer's Market has fallen off so sharply...) and the Guide to Literary Agents.
All of these books are published by Writer's Digest, whose site & shop can be found here and here.
Now, in 2007 I noticed that (in the back of Guide to Literary Agents) they had a brief directory of script agents.
Well, in later years (2009 & 2010) they expanded that into its own book: the Screenwriter & Playwright's Guide (see picture below).
I used this book for 2009 and 2010. That's how I was introduced to Circle of Confusion and that is how I received my first few nibbles of interest from Hollywood.
Anyhow, Writer's Digest has brought back their guides to screenwriting.
I just ordered the 2013 volume from Amazon (see 2nd picture below).
If nothing else it will give me a slew of agencies where I can submit my work to and a few pointers as to how I should submit my work.
So I've got that, the agent directory on the WGAw website and all the agents in the Guide to Literary Agents to submit to (once I have an edited copy of Urban Prairie in front of me).
Other than that, today I called my dad and grandpa for Father's Day and scheduled a trip up to the family farm for later in the week...
What a positive weekend it's been... and next week looks to be even better...
